Jusoor 2025 Annual Report
Diving into the highlights of 2025, with highlights from our intervention kickoff in Syria, to our programs and the impact they left on thousands of vulnerable children and youth.

A Message from our Board of Directors & Executive Director
Dear Friends and Supporters,
2025 was a year of a new chapter for Jusoor.
For over a decade, Jusoor was built on a belief: that Syrian children and youth, no matter where displacement had taken them, deserved access to the education, opportunity, and support that would allow them to shape their own futures. That belief never wavered, even as the circumstances around us shifted constantly; we continued designing and implementing programs for Syrians in displacement. But in 2025, something changed. For the first time, we were able to work inside Syria and help build the Syria we all know it can be.
Bridges to Syria is our initiative in Syria; it is a commitment to being present at the moment our communities need us most, inside the country that has always been at the heart of everything we do. We know that rebuilding Syria will take generations, and we know that education is where that rebuilding begins. Every classroom we open, every student we support through their final exams, every teacher we train is an investment in the architects of a future Syria.
At the same time, we remain clear-eyed about the present. Displacement is not over. The conditions that made Jusoor necessary have not disappeared. Across Lebanon, Jordan, Türkiye, and beyond, Syrian youth continue to navigate enormous barriers to education, employment, and opportunity. Our work in those communities is as urgent as it has ever been, and we will not pull back from it.
What 2025 affirmed, above all, is that Jusoor's model works. Holistic support combining education with psychosocial care, scholarships with career guidance, entrepreneurship training with real market access, produces real, lasting change in people's lives. We have seen it in the scholars who graduate and give back. We have seen it in the entrepreneurs who build businesses that employ others. We have seen it in the children who spread the values they learn at Jusoor’s centers to their communities. The multiplier effect is not a theory for us. It is something we witness every day.
To our donors, partners, and supporters, this work belongs to all of us. You are not observers of Jusoor's mission but a part of it. And as we look ahead, we carry with us both the weight of what remains to be done and the deep conviction that it can be done.
Syria's future is being built now, one student, one scholar, one entrepreneur at a time. We are honored to be part of that building.
With hope and determination,
The Jusoor Team & Board
We have reached over 23,859 vulnerable children and youth.
Since 2011, Jusoor has been bridging the opportunity gap for war and displacement-affected children at each developmental stage through to their early careers. Highlights of 2025
Bridges to Syria
2025 marked a turning point for Jusoor. Since our inception in 2011, we have worked with Syrians and for Syrians, but never inside Syria. With the launch of Bridges to Syria, we took the first step toward establishing a formal presence in the country and registering as an NGO. What started as intense on-ground learning and monitoring has quickly emerged, turning into actionable plans and projects that have already impacted more than 1,000 Syrian students and teachers this year.

Investing in Syrian Entrepreneurs
But we didn’t just work with schools. During the first-ever Global Entrepreneurship Week in Syria, we served as strategic partners, participating in panels, roundtable discussions, and networking with Syrian startups to better understand the needs on the ground and how Jusoor can contribute to the country's startup ecosystem. During the event, we announced the launch of our first Entrepreneurship Program inside Syria, Launchpad, a residency pre-accelerator program in collaboration with Startup Syria, designed for early-stage Syrian startups that have already launched a minimum viable product (MVP) or are generating early traction in the market, set to start in 2026.

High School Academic Support
The summer ended with a partnership with Sawaed Syria, where we launched preparatory courses for high school students entering their final year of high school. Our program supported 36 students in Maadameyet Al-Sham across seven core subjects, providing them with free, accessible courses to prepare for their baccalaureate exams following years of interrupted schooling.

Focus on Teachers
Over the summer in Syria, we ran a series of intensive three-day teacher trainings in Zabadany, Maadameyet Al-Sham, and Haran Al-Awameed, reaching 90 primary school teachers. These teachers then ran our summer school program, providing over 800 children with hands-on experience to apply their newly acquired skills.
Connecting Syria’s Diaspora & Locals in Academia
At the end of December, we hosted the Bridging Science Forum in collaboration with the Syrian Science Council at Idlib University. This Academic Exchange Initiative brought together academics from within Syria and abroad to create a shared space for dialogue, exchange of experiences, and support for the development of the academic and research landscape in line with the requirements of the current phase and reconstruction. The forum included a series of lectures and interactive workshops presented by a select group of Syrian academics, in a space aimed at strengthening academic communication and building bridges of knowledge between those inside and outside Syria.

Seven Years of Teaching, One Training That Made the Difference: Aziza’s Story
Aziza Darwish has been teaching grade two at Harran al-Awameed School for Girls in Syria for seven years. In the summer of 2025, she took part in Jusoor's three-day teacher training program, one of three sessions held across Syrian towns, reaching 90 primary school teachers. This is what changed when she went back to her classroom.

“Our partnership with Jusoor is highly appreciated. It has demonstrated the value of collaborative action in supporting higher education and knowledge exchange in Syria. Through joint initiatives—particularly the knowledge exchange conference at Idlib University—this conference has helped to connect expertise, to foster academic dialogue, and to open pathways for sustainable engagement between Syrian academics inside the country and in the diaspora. It has also laid the foundation for broader future initiatives supporting Syrian universities."

Providing Quality Education for Syrian Refugees and Vulnerable Lebanese Children
Since June 2013, Jusoor’s Refugee Education Program in Lebanon has helped thousands of displaced Syrian children continue their education outside of Syria. The program seeks to ensure Syrian refugee children, as well as other vulnerable Lebanese children, have a holistic, well-rounded primary school education and a strong psychosocial support system. Our education programs have been developed in response to distinct challenges that children face due to the impact of the conflict in Syria and Lebanon's economic collapse.
Driven by the dire need for education among displaced children, with a staggering 30% of school-aged Syrian children in Lebanon having never attended school, our Refugee Education Program targets Syrian refugees in Lebanon along with their peers from vulnerable Lebanese communities. Our program emphasizes equality, with 51.19% of our students being female.
Holistic Wellbeing Focus
Our commitment to education includes a strong focus on the physical and mental well-being of our students. By incorporating psychosocial support into our curriculum, we address the holistic needs of our students, fostering an environment where they can thrive.
Advanced Learning Integration
We go beyond the basics by integrating advanced learning methods and technologies, such as real-life tools, future skills, and AI, to provide a rich and personalized educational experience. This approach ensures that each student receives the support they need to succeed academically and personally.
Cultural Sensitivity and Relevance
Our curriculum is designed to be culturally sensitive and relevant to the realities faced by our students. By tailoring our educational content to reflect their lived experiences, we make learning more relatable and impactful.
