Jusoor’s March 2026 Newsletter
Syria Support Classes; Campaign Success; Online Learning; Startup Scaling

Our Ramadan campaign concluded at the end of March, with great success. Thanks for your generous support, we were able to surpass our $50,000 goal, which will support the education of orphans in Syria, marking our first High School Scholarship intervention inside Syria! While the current events weigh heavily on us, we took a bold decision: education will not stop, no matter what. Our centers in Beirut and the Bekaa Valley shut their doors, but our staff was ready to jump in and switch to teaching online. We are also moving in full force inside Syria, running our latest initiative providing support classes for students in their final year of high school.

Online Learning Continues While Lebanon Centers Remain Closed

In response to the ongoing war and escalation in Lebanon, we made the difficult decision to close our centers in early March to ensure the safety of students and teachers, but quickly pivoted to online learning thanks to our tried and tested Azima initiative. Despite challenges such as internet shortages and mobile-only access, teachers and students stay connected via WhatsApp to exchange assignments and feedback, ensuring continuity in literacy, numeracy, and psycho-social support sessions for both children and parents. Beyond academics, these online lessons offer a crucial sense of normalcy and stability, helping students and teachers cope with the uncertainty of war and reinforcing education as an essential pillar of well-being.

Orphaned Students in Aleppo Will Get Their High School Studies Taken Care Of

Thanks to the generosity of over 270 donors in our Ramadan campaign, orphaned High School students in Syria will receive scholarships to enable them to complete their secondary education. With the success of our program in Lebanon, which has to date supported more than 900 students in High School, we plan to replicate the model in Syria in the upcoming academic year. Our scholarship not only offers students tuition coverage but also university application preparation, career guidance, soft skills training, and psychosocial support. This approach ensures that students are supported academically and emotionally, not only in school but on their journey toward higher education.

Afterschool & Weekend Classes for Baccalaureate Students in Syria

In a powerful effort to ensure educational continuity for Syrian youth, supported by the Chalhoub Group, Jusoor launched after-school and weekend retention classes for Baccalaureate students across three towns: Harran El Awameed, Zabadani, and Moaamadiyet El Sham. Designed to support 100 high school students, the program offers targeted instruction in core subjects including Maths, Chemistry, Biology, Physics, Arabic, English, and French. The goal is to strengthen students' skills, close learning gaps exacerbated by the conflict, and boost their performance in official exams. Running until June, the project reflects a shared commitment to leaving no student behind, with efforts already underway to expand support to other Syrian cities and towns.

Scale Beyond: Empowering Growth for Jordan-Based Startups

This month, we launched ‘Scale Beyond’, a targeted growth program designed to support high-potential Jordan-based startups in transitioning from early-stage operations to scalable, investment-ready businesses. We are calling for businesses with clear market traction, operating in the digital or tech-related sectors, with legal presence in Jordan and intent to expand to GCC, Europe, or the US markets. The program will select ten startups, with preference given to startups run by women and Syrian refugees, to participate in curated investor and client matchmaking facilitated through one-on-one meetings, sector-focused roundtables, and culminating in an in-person Demo Day bridging startups with growth capital and strategic partners.

As always, we take this monthly opportunity to thank you, our community, for supporting us in bringing opportunities for education, entrepreneurship, and career development to children and youth in Syria and beyond.
