In May, we earned the Bronze Certification for Equity from EduEvidence, launched a new scholarships track for students at universities in Syria ‘Built from Within’, and are continuing our efforts of teaching online at our centers till the end of the semester. We also update you on what some of our scholars have been up to.

Our Online Learning Platform Earns the Bronze Equity Certification
We are excited to announce that our online learning platform, delivered entirely on WhatsApp to Syrian refugee children in Lebanon, was granted the Bronze Equity Certification. EduEvidence, the certifying body, is a not-for-profit organization based in Norway, committed to providing evidence-based certifications for EdTech products globally. The Equity Certification is dedicated to solutions that support marginalized communities and give access to underserved communities. We are proud that Azima has supported almost 1000 students since its inception in 2020, and we have used its success to adapt our centers to online learning during times of crisis in Lebanon in 2024 and 2026.
Ten Scholarships in Universities in Syria — “Built From Within”
After fifteen years of supporting more than 400 scholars in 23 countries, for the first time in Jusoor’s history, we are supporting ten scholars to study at Syrian universities in the 2026/2027 academic year. We are bringing home that same commitment that we have shown time and again in our international program with our new scholarship track, Built From Within, dedicated to supporting scholars at Syrian Universities. This track is for students who are choosing to stay and contribute to the country from the ground up. Jusoor is backing that choice with the same seriousness it has always brought to the international program. The students in this track are not just investing in their own education. They are part of something larger, a generation building expertise, capacity, and knowledge from within their own country.

Online Learning to Continue Till the End of the Semester at Jusoor Lebanon Centers
Due to the persisting uncertain security situation in Lebanon, we have decided to continue online learning at Jusoor's Lebanon centers for the rest of the academic year. Almost 70% of our students exchange lessons, assignments, and support with their teachers via WhatsApp every day, ensuring every child keeps learning, no matter the circumstances. Our centers in Beirut and the Bekaa Valley will remain closed for the remainder of the academic year as we continue to prioritize the safety of our students and teachers. We are planning for a safe return to in-person learning at the start of the next academic year.

Apple HQ, European Space Foundation, First Scholar in Syria
This month, we shared exciting updates from our scholars. We introduced you to Naouar Abdul Wahab, Jusoor’s first scholar studying in a Syrian University. We shared our MIT scholar Subhi Abo Rdan’s experience working as an intern at Apple Headquarters. We also shared how our Imperial College of London scholar Sami Marouf participated in the Formula Student Competition and European Rover Challenge, the latter of which, he received a certificate from the European Space Foundation for. We are always proud of how our scholars overcome adversity and show, time and time again, the importance of bridging the opportunity gap.
