Online learning at Jusoor's Lebanon centers will continue for the remainder of the current academic year. The safety of our students, teachers, and staff remains our primary concern, and we are not yet in a position to confirm that conditions on the ground are safe enough for a return to in-person learning.
Despite the ceasefire, fighting continues in parts of the country, and the situation remains uncertain. We are closely monitoring developments on the ground and planning for hopefully a safe return to in-person learning at the start of the next academic year. We will share updates as the situation develops.
Since making the shift in March, our teachers and students have shown remarkable commitment to keeping education going under difficult circumstances. Thanks to our tried and tested Online Learning Initiative, Azima, our teachers were well-equipped to make the transition with minimal software requirements and a great deal of determination.
Due to internet shortages and mobile-only accessibility for most of our students, teachers and students exchange videos, assignments, and corrections on WhatsApp, ensuring that every child continues to receive an education and keep their learning on track, no matter the circumstances. Our online intervention includes literacy, numeracy, and psychosocial support sessions supervised by our psychosocial support counselors. for both the children and their parents, to help them cope with the added stress of the current situation.
More than 70% of our students are actively engaged in online learning with our teachers. We continue to work on reaching the rest of our students, particularly our youngest learners from the Early Childhood Education program, who are more challenging to reach online.
For our young learners, the normalcy of these online lessons is a powerful coping mechanism. Education provides stability in what is already a challenging time to grow up in, and in the context of ongoing uncertainty, that stability becomes not just important but essential to their well-being.
Thank you to everyone who has stood by our students and teachers throughout this period.
