Providing Stationery to Displaced Children in Southern Lebanon & Our Centers
This month, we successfully distributed 300 stationery kits to Lebanese and Syrian children displaced by the ongoing war in southern Lebanon with the support of World Vision. Each kit, filled with pencils, crayons, copy books, and essential learning supplies, was delivered to children living in shelters across Chouf and Saida. With the support of the Asfari Foundation, we also distributed 500 stationery kits to children in our centers, as well as 527 data bundles to support online learning, which has been taking place since the outset of the war. These materials serve a dual purpose: keeping young minds engaged during displacement and providing the necessary tools for final exams and continued study.

Anoud Tellou AlNachawati: From Refugee to McGill Graduate
We couldn’t be prouder of our latest graduate, Anoud Tellou AlNachawati, who just graduated from McGill University with a Bachelor of Science in Physiology (Biological, Biomedical & Life Sciences group) and a 3.74 term GPA, with her parents present in Montreal. Anoud fled Syria with her family in 2011, completed high school with distinction in Jordan, and joined McGill in 2021 through Jusoor's 100 Syrian Women, 10,000 Syrian Lives scholarship. Anoud has been accepted to conduct research on CFTR ion channels linked to cystic fibrosis at the McGill University Health Centre Research Institute.

World Refugee Week: The Teachers Who Left, The Families That Stayed
This month, we took part in raising awareness during the 2026 World Refugee Week awareness campaign under the theme ‘Courage’. We collected testimonies from four of our refugee center teachers who made their way back to Syria, carrying with them the training and experience they attained during their displacement in Lebanon into their new roles as educators in Syria, serving a vital role in rebuilding the country through its future generations. We also shared stories from our refugee education center students’ families who, despite longing for home, needed to stay in Lebanon.
