Jamal Alothman

I graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Software Engineering with honors in 2022 and completed a Master of Science degree in Computer Science with distinction in 2024. I began my career in 2016 as a senior IT and filmmaking trainer with Mercy Corps, where I supported young people with digital and creative skills. From 2020 to 2021, I trained learners in digital skills with the Kiron Foundation. Between 2021 and 2023, I worked with Humanity & Inclusion as a data collection and coordination officer, managing reports, cleaning data, and performing technical troubleshooting.

Since the scholarship, I worked as a research assistant at the University of Sheffield and Al al-Bayt University, contributing to digital literacy projects. In 2024, I joined Midbar as a senior operations coordinator, integrating IoT-based smart agriculture technologies and overseeing field operations. My future plan is to enhance my impact on humanitarian and development work by contributing to technology-based solutions that support vulnerable communities and to continue my pursuit of a PhD in artificial intelligence and its impact and technologies in cancer control.
