My name is Alyaa Al Nehlawi, from Damascus, Syria. I began my freshman journey at McGill University, to pursue studies in the Faculty of Science. With a deep interest in neuroscience and computer science, my program interest falls in Neuroscience and a minor in Computer Science. My goal is to leverage these disciplines to implement a project that addresses the crucial issue of limited access to high-quality education for females and underrepresented groups. Throughout my journey, I have actively engaged in volunteer work to make a positive impact. I dedicated my time to organizations like Small Projects Istanbul, supporting marginalized communities. Additionally, I volunteered at a public hospital, facilitating effective communication between patients and healthcare providers as a translator. My dedication and efforts have been recognized, as I was nominated for the 'Güçlü Kızlar, Güçlü Yarınlar' (Empowered Girls, Empowered Future) Award by Aydın Doğan Vakfı."
