Jusoor is proud to announce a landmark partnership with the Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) as part of their Skills, Training, and Education Program (STEP) for refugees, displaced persons, and host communities, signed during the 2025 IsDB Group Annual Meeting in Algeria. The agreement, signed by Jusoor’s Executive Director, Khaled Abu Ajwa, marks a significant step forward in our mission to empower refugees, displaced individuals, and vulnerable host communities through education and skills development.
A Transformative Initiative: The STEP Program
The Skills, Training, and Education Program (STEP) for refugees, displaced persons, and host communities is a flagship initiative by the Islamic Development Bank aimed at restoring hope, strengthening resilience, and creating opportunities for those affected by conflict and displacement. By focusing on education, vocational training, and employability skills, STEP seeks to equip individuals with the tools they need to rebuild their lives and contribute to their communities.
Jusoor’s Role in STEP
As part of this partnership, Jusoor will serve in two critical capacities:
- Steering Committee Member – Helping shape the strategic direction of STEP to ensure it meets the needs of refugee and host communities effectively.
- Implementing Partner – Leveraging our expertise in refugee education and workforce development to deliver programs on the ground.
This collaboration aligns with Jusoor’s long-standing commitment to breaking barriers to education and employment for displaced youth. By working with the IsDB, we can scale our impact and reach even more individuals in need.
The signing of this agreement is just the beginning. Over the coming months, Jusoor and the IsDB will work closely to roll out STEP initiatives in key regions, with a focus on durable solutions for refugees and host communities.
We are grateful to the Islamic Development Bank for their trust in Jusoor and their dedication to creating meaningful change. Together, we can transform lives and build a future where every individual has the opportunity to thrive.
