Jusoor & Juna Foundation Launch Scholarship in Lebanon

The Jusoor-Juna Foundation scholarship will focus on Professional Development Certification, Vocational Certification, and will provide partial funding for bachelor's degrees.
Jusoor & Juna Foundation Launch Scholarship in Lebanon

The Jusoor-Juna Foundation partnership opens a pathway for displaced Syrian, Palestinian, and Lebanese youth to pursue in-person Professional Development Certificates, Vocational Certification, and/or a partially funded bachelor's program at partner institutions, including the Modern University for Business and Science (MUBS), CIS College, and recently the American University of Science and Technology (AUST) in Lebanon.

The first cohort, 6 scholars, were awarded scholarships for fall 2025 to pursue either 6-month Professional Development Certificates in Information Technology & Management at MUBS or 24-month Vocational Certificates at CIS College, such as Nursing Care, Automotive Mechanics, Electromechanics, or Dental Laboratory Sciences. Additionally, one scholar was awarded a partial scholarship to pursue a Bachelor of Nursing at the American University of Science and Technology. The scholars are recruited from Jusoor's high school scholarship partners and schools in Tripoli and Bekaa, as well as from supporting networks and communities, creating a continuous educational pathway from secondary school through vocational and professional training.

The scholarship covers core education costs such as tuition, registration fees, offset living stipends, and essential learning tools (e.g., WiFi, laptops). Beyond financial support, scholars can benefit from Jusoor's community services during and after their studies, including mental health support, professional development opportunities, networking platforms, and integration into Jusoor's global alumni network.

This level of support empowers Jusoor-Juna Foundation scholars to advance academically and professionally in ways that were previously challenging. Thus, central to the partnership is a pay-it-forward culture where scholars commit to developing and progressing their skills to contribute to the redevelopment of Syria and the broader Middle East region, and to support future cohorts of Juna-Jusoor scholars.

Meet the Juna Foundation-Jusoor Scholars

Ahmad Al Dawoud, Automotive Mechanics, CIS College, 25-26

I am Ahmad, a Palestinian in Lebanon. I graduated from high school Sociology & Economics pathway (SE) in 2025 with a result of 15.39/20. Following this, I received the Juna Foundation-Jusoor scholarship to major in automotive mechanics at CIS College.

Alongside my studies, I am an active volunteer with the Arab Palestinian Cultural Club, where I participate in organising and supporting various cultural and social events. Volunteering has strengthened my teamwork, communication, and organisational skills.

Nour Aldeen Okab, Information Technology & Management, Modern University for Business and Science, 25-26

I was born in Syria and moved to Lebanon in 2011 due to the war. Despite the challenges of displacement, I remained committed to my education and completed high school in 2025. Throughout my studies, I developed a strong interest in technology and problem-solving, which led me to pursue a degree in Information Technology at the Modern University for Business and Science (MUBS) through the Jusoor and Juna scholarship. Alongside my academic journey, I have been an active volunteer with the Scouts, participating in humanitarian and food distribution campaigns that strengthened my sense of responsibility and teamwork.

My future goal is to complete my education, begin a professional career in the IT field, and use my skills to contribute positively to my community. I aspire to continue collaborating with Jusoor and Juna to create meaningful opportunities for others.

Nour Eman Ghannam, Information Technology & Management, Modern University for Business and Science, 25-26

My name is Nour El-Eman El-Ghannam. I am 20 years old, and I study at the Modern University for Business and Science. I have volunteered with several organisations, including Action Against Hunger in 2020, INTERSOS in 2019, Dhamma in 2020, and Sawa in 2024. I have completed several educational courses, such as a computer skills course, an English language course, a life skills course, a leadership skills course, a digital skills course, and a psychological support course.

My plan for the future is to give back to society with everything I've learned, because every small step I take in society makes a big difference. I also plan to work in a field related to what I've learned, to open up a bright future for myself and continue my journey.

Abdulkarim Kaisania, Information Technology & Management, Modern University for Business and Science, 25-26

I graduated from high school with a strong interest in hands-on work and community service. I have worked in the construction field, assisting with concrete mixing, material handling, and on-site preparation. I also gained experience working in a bakery warehouse, where I organised goods, helped with loading and unloading, and prepared daily orders. In addition, I volunteered with a local NGO to support an event for orphaned children by helping with inflatable games, distributing food, and creating a fun and safe environment.

These experiences helped me build a strong work ethic, teamwork skills, and a sense of responsibility. I plan to pursue higher education in a field where I can continue learning, growing, and contributing positively to my community.

Fatimah Kadah, Information Technology & Management, Modern University for Business and Science, 25-26

I was born in 2007 and completed my baccalaureate studies with a focus on IT. Throughout my school years, I developed a strong interest in technology, creativity, and teamwork. Two years ago, I helped form a school team that organised donation campaigns and collected supplies for refugees from the South, which strengthened my sense of responsibility and leadership. I enjoy cooking and watching films, both of which inspire my creativity and imagination, as I am also very good at drawing.

After this professional certificate in 2026, I plan to study Business Administration in the future, aiming to combine my technical background with management skills to start my own business one day. My long-term goal is to create a project that supports both innovation and community development.

Iman AlMiari, Bachelor of Nursing, The American University of Science and Technology, 25-26

I studied at Deir Yassin School in Al-Buss Camp, where I completed my secondary education and graduated in 2025 with great grades in Life Science. Throughout my school years, I stayed active in volunteer work. I helped organize awareness campaigns about COVID-19, cholera, and other illnesses, and took part in community activities such as street cleanup.

During the period when I was displaced by the conflict in Lebanon, I wanted to bring joy to children, so I dressed up as a teddy bear and visited schools for displaced families to make them smile. I also joined Al Smoud Organization, where we talked about social issues like bullying and decision-making through activities. I completed the Digital and Media Literacy Training Program by DOT and received a certificate. In the future, I hope to work in a hospital, support patients, ease their pain, and play a role in my community.
