Due to concerns for the safety of our students and staff in Lebanon amid escalating regional tensions and strikes in Beirut & south Lebanon, we have temporarily shut down our education centers effective immediately.
The decision applies to our centers in the Bekaa Valley, Jurahiya, and Chalhoub-Jeb Jennine, as well as our center in Beirut in Bourj Hammoud. We have launched online teaching via WhatsApp, in what we hope is a temporary measure until our centers can reopen soon.
The safety and well-being of our students and staff are central to our mission. While we are aware of what this closure means to many of our students, for whom our centers not only represent a school, but also a sense of stability, belonging and, perhaps most importantly, hope, we do need to always ensure our students’ safety while they are in our centers.
We continue to monitor the situation closely and re-evaluate our decision based on updates from the current conflict and feedback from our teams on the ground and the education sector. We are committed to resuming our work on the ground, once it becomes safe to do so, and continue to bring education to the most vulnerable communities in Lebanon.
