High School Scholarship Students Make Their Way into Syrian Universities

High School Scholarship Students Make Their Way into Syrian Universities

31 High School Scholarship students who graduated in 2025 in Lebanon have all joined Syrian universities. From engineering to dentistry, law, medicine, science, and literature at the University of Homs, University of Idlib, University of Damascus, and others.

Our High School Scholarship program in Lebanon supports Syrian refugee adolescents to complete Grades 10–12 in Lebanon. We cover part of the tuition fees, and provide transportation costs, extra support classes, university application support, as well as psychosocial support, to ensure bright young Syrian youth in Lebanon can complete their secondary school education.

The program comes as a response to the barriers Syrian youth face in accessing education in Lebanon, with less than 1% enrolled in Grade 9 and less than 4% are enrolled in secondary school, the latter of which is at the end of the global average of 34% of refugees accessing secondary school.

The High School Scholarship program operates in both our Jurahiya Education Center and Toyour Al-Amal School in Tripoli, where these 31 students graduated.

This is a moment where we truly see the impact of our work at Jusoor; had it not been for our High School Scholarships in Lebanon, many of these students would not have had access to the support they needed to complete their studies. We look forward to seeing these students move on to become Syria’s next generation of entrepreneurs, engineers, doctors, writers, thinkers, and changemakers, moving the country forward.
