I am completing a BA in Political Science and Economics, with a minor in Latin American Studies, at the University of Richmond. Before moving to the United States, I represented Syria in its first appearances at the World Schools Debating Championships and graduated from the Mahindra United World College in India. Born in Al-Tadamon, Damascus, and originally from Salamiyah, I am a former internally displaced person. My research focuses on forced migration, return, and diaspora politics, and I have led campus initiatives that connect global struggles for justice and belonging.
I tutor Spanish, English, and Arabic for students and migrants in Richmond. I have interned with Jusoor in 2023 and served as a mentor in 2022. Beyond academic and civic work, I am passionate about languages, cycling, and music, particularly Bossa Nova and Fairuz.

In 2025, I was awarded as a Rhodes Scholar for the Syria, Jordan, Lebanon, and Palestine constituency. At Oxford, I plan to pursue an MSc in Refugee and Forced Migration Studies, deepening my commitment to freedom of movement and to a world where refugees can rebuild their lives with dignity.
