Reporting to Jusoor’s Executive Director, this is a unique opportunity to lead the creation and scale of Jusoor’s new Career Development program that aims to empower and connect Syrians in the region with remote job opportunities.
Required Skills and Experience
- Access to a computer or laptop and high-speed internet
- Communication skills in English and Arabic, both oral and written
- Computer skills, confident using google sheet (excel/word)
- Ability to work in a team and capacity to work on own initiative
- Ability to work in a multicultural environment with gender-sensitive behavior and attitudes
- Background in Computer Science and Project Management
- Ability to prioritize appropriately, multi-task, self-motivate and work independently, as well as part of a remote team when handling a wide range of complex administrative tasks
- Demonstrated proficiency in data management, G-suite, and other office technologies as well as comfort in learning new proprietary software systems
- Excellence in communicating with tact and diplomacy, both orally and in writing (including to senior management, co-workers, and program beneficiaries and partners)
- Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
- Ability to work occasional non-standard hours including evening and weekends on occasions
- Passionate about Jusoor’s vision
- A minimum of two years of experience in project and people management field is essential.
Role Primary Duties and Responsibilities
- Develop and lead the Career Development program strategy, including management of Careers Committee
- Create and organize yearly budgets for the Career Development program and work closely with the finance team to ensure all payments are paid on time
- Identify, establish and maintain strong partnerships with hiring partners, training providers, funding bodies experts
- Design training and upskilling programs with hiring partners and working to place beneficiaries after the program
- Manage one existing team member and build out the team as required to scale
- Design outreach strategy to beneficiaries, and oversight of their journey collecting feedback, to iterate program for best chances of success
- Comply with Jusoor’s reporting demands by ensuring data is properly collected, analysed and archived, liaise and provide reports to program donors
- Work closely with the communication and fundraising teams to ensure the program is well promoted and that achievements of students are celebrated
