On the evening of Friday, 13th of June, we invite you to join us at NoMad London’s Magistrates Ballroom for Jusoor 2025 London Gala, an evening that will bring together Arab change-makers, visionaries, and supporters from across the diaspora to celebrate the root of hope for renewed possibilities and to spotlight Jusoor’s vision for the future.

‍About Jusoor’s Programs

Refugee Education Program

Since June 2013, Jusoor’s Refugee Education Program in Lebanon has helped thousands of displaced Syrian children continue their education outside of Syria. The program seeks to ensure Syrian refugee children as well as other vulnerable Lebanese children have a holistic, well-rounded primary school education and a strong psychosocial support system.  Our education programs have been developed in response to distinct challenges that children face due to the impact of the conflict in Syria and Lebanon's economic collapse. Our impact through this program has been expansive and below, you can read more about some of our projects.

Pine Community School (PCS)

In 2022, Jusoor partnered with the Ali Ghandour family to secure the future of primary and middle school students in Derkousheh, Chouf in Lebanon. PCS, also named The Ali Ghandour Schooling for Excellence and Diversity, has become a cornerstone of the community, offering a holistic learning environment that fosters critical thinking, independent learning, creativity, and innovation. Jusoor’s psychosocial support counselor also helps students, teachers, and parents foster socio-emotional skills, creating empowering environments at both school and home. During the 2023-2024 academic year, PCS supported 142 students—43% Lebanese and 57% Syrian. Notably, all 20 teachers employed by the school are Lebanese, strengthening its local impact.

Scholarships Program

Jusoor’s Scholarships Program is dedicated to providing talented Syrian and Palestinian-Syrian youth in the Levant with access to world-class education, enabling them to pursue their academic dreams and build a better future for themselves and their communities. We believe that education is the key to

unlocking potential and driving long-term change in the region. Our scholarships have thus far provided opportunities for Syrian students to attend leading institutions around the world, including universities such as Harvard, Oxford, and McGill. Below, you can read more about some of our projects.

In 2025, 10% of Jusoor’s university scholarships at institutions such as the University of Cambridge and the American University of Beirut, will be open to Lebanese and Palestinian youth.

100 Syrian Women, 10,000 Syrian Lives

Jusoor launched the 100 Syrian Women Scholarships initiative in 2016 to support bright and promising Syrian women to pursue undergraduate and graduate studies in North America and the United Kingdom. We anticipate that every woman who receives this scholarship will positively impact the lives of at least 1,000 Syrians following her graduation, embodying the multiplier effect. All of Jusoor’s 100 Syrian Women scholars demonstrate exemplary academic performance, social service, civic responsibility and a strong potential to serve as global leaders.

Jusoor has supported 43 scholars to study at 19 universities in 3 countries - The United States, The United Kingdom and Canada - with a 100% graduation rate thus far. The scholars have studied at universities such as McGill, NYU, Columbia, Brown and LSE. About 55% of the 100 Syrian Women Scholars have studied STEM fields and 45% have studied Social Sciences.

100 Syrian Women Alumni Spotlight

Warda Sahtout is a Palestinian-Syrian from Damascus and Jusoor alumna who graduated in 2020 with a master’s in International Conflict Resolution from the School of International and Public Affairs at Columbia University. She is currently a Project Manager at Compliance and Capacity Skills International LLC, working on developing practical strategies against gender-based violence and enhancing human rights protections as part of her larger interest in peace-building and conflict resolution. Warda also volunteers as a mentor in Jusoor’s Academic Mentorship Program.  Her mentee in 2022 was awarded a Chevening-Jusoor scholarship in 2023, which is co-funded by the Jusoor and the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office of the United Kingdom!

High School Scholarships

In 2022, Jusoor established its High School Scholarships (HSS) project with a sense of urgency to support refugees and other vulnerable adolescents to complete Grades 10–12 in Tripoli and the Bekaa Valley in Lebanon. Jusoor’s approach is focused on facilitating social mobility and support to enable our students to have full access to educational opportunities. We provide tuition fees, transportation costs, support classes, university application support and psychosocial support. The project has supported over 500 students, a small percentage of whom are Lebanese and the majority being Syrian. It has also supported over 40 teachers, 50% being Lebanese.
