Founded in 2011 by Syrian Diaspora in the private sector, Jusoor is a unique model of humanitarian intervention known for its innovative approach, dynamic and continuously improving programs, high-velocity execution, and the strength of its global partnerships. Through our 4 programs – Refugee Education, Scholarships, Entrepreneurship and Career Development — we have impacted the lives of over 15,000 children and youth through creating diverse and meaningful educational pathways in the Middle East, US, UK, Europe, and Asia; trained over 2,000 entrepreneurs; and empowered over 600 businesses and startups through mobilizing over 23million USD in global support. About the Role
The Scholarships Program Officer supports the effective implementation and day-to-day management of the organization’s flagship program; the Scholarships Program. Working across both high school and university scholarship programs, the Officer provides essential coordination, administrative, and operational support to ensure the smooth day-to-day running of the programs.
This role requires a detail-oriented and organized professional with a strong commitment to education access, capable of supporting multiple processes while maintaining accuracy, responsiveness, and effective communication with scholars and partners.
Key Responsibilities:
Program Coordination
- Support the implementation of both high school and higher education scholarship programs across their full lifecycle, including coordination with partner schools, universities, and service providers to ensure smooth delivery of program activities.
- Support follow-up with partner institutions and assist in ensuring alignment with program timelines, requirements, and ongoing activities.
- Support the planning and delivery of scholar development activities, including capacity-building for teachers and facilitation of opportunities beyond academics in coordination with relevant partners.
- Maintain accurate records of scholars, contracts, and program documentation across both programs.
- Support financial processes by archiving receipts and invoices and assisting with payment coordination in collaboration with the Finance team.
- Support the maintenance and organization of program files, templates, and shared documentation to ensure consistency and accessibility of information.
- Assist in tracking budgets and maintaining organized program files and documentation.
- Support the recruitment and selection process for higher education scholars, including application screening, coordination of selection steps, and communication with applicants.
- Provide additional coordination, administrative, and operational support to the Scholarships team as required to ensure smooth program functioning.
Research & Program Development Support
- Support research and data collection efforts related to program development, including needs assessments and mapping of potential partners and academic institutions.
- Contribute to identifying opportunities for program improvement and expansion based on data and field insights.
Monitoring, Evaluation & Reporting (MEAL)
- Support MEAL activities through data collection, surveys, interviews, and occasional field visits in coordination with the MEAL team.
- Contribute to tracking program performance indicators and maintaining data integrity across systems.
- Assist in preparing periodic reports (quarterly and bi-annual) by compiling and validating program data and inputs.
Communications & Operational Support
- Support the development of presentations, reports, and program materials in coordination with internal teams, including Communications.
- Provide general administrative and operational support to the Scholarships team, including meeting coordination, documentation, and ad hoc tasks as required.
Eligibility
- Passionate about working with Syrian youth and motivated to prove yourself in the organization
- Knowledge of the higher education landscape in Syria
- Access to a computer or laptop with high-speed internet
- Strong computer skills and experience navigating various cloud-based collaboration platforms, including MS Office, Google Drive, Slack, Zoom
- Ability to effectively collaborate with other remotely-based team members while also being self-motivated and able to work independently.
- Demonstrates respect for diverse identities, including strong multicultural awareness and gender-sensitive behavior as a member of a global team.
Required Skills and Experience
1. Core Qualifications

2. Technical Skills
- Basic experience preparing presentations (PowerPoint / Google Slides).
- Experience supporting coordination with partner institutions (schools, universities, or NGOs), with the ability to maintain structured communication and follow-up.
- Working understanding of basic monitoring and evaluation tools and processes, including data collection, surveys, and reporting support in program contexts.
- Ability to support budgeting processes and track basic financial information, including maintaining records and assisting with expenditure monitoring in coordination with finance teams.
- Ability to support research and data gathering on education programs, scholarship systems, and partner landscapes to inform program improvements and development.
3. Experience & Education
- Bachelor’s degree in International Relations, International Education or a similar field.
- 1-2 years experience working within education initiatives for conflict-affected (preferably Syrian or other Arab) youth.
- Exposure to monitoring & evaluation, reporting, or data management is highly desirable.
- Experience working with multiple stakeholders (schools, universities, partners) is a plus.
