About Jusoor

Jusoor, meaning "bridges" in Arabic, is an international NGO with the mission of maximizing the potential of Syrian youth through education. Founded in 2011 by a group of Syrian diaspora members in the private sector, Jusoor is a unique model of humanitarian intervention known for its innovative approach, high-quality and continuously improving programs, rapid execution, and strong global partnerships. Jusoor believes in lean impact and holds itself accountable for being responsive to the realities of Syrian children and youth on the ground and in the diaspora.

Since 2011, Jusoor has been bridging the opportunity gap for conflict- and displacement-affected children at each developmental stage through to their early careers. Through four key programs — Refugee Education, Scholarships, Entrepreneurship, and Career Development — Jusoor has impacted the lives of children and youth by creating diverse and meaningful educational and career pathways in the Levant, Asia, the US, and Europe. Since 2025, Jusoor has also expanded its programs to support children, youth, educators, and entrepreneurs within Syria.

Jusoor is a non-political, non-religious organization, globally registered as a US 501c(3), and a charitable organization in Canada, the United Kingdom, Syria, Lebanon and Jordan.

The Career Development Program creates pathways to skills development and employment for conflict- and displacement-affected youth and women. Through market-relevant training, career support, employer engagement, and employment pathways, the program helps participants translate skills into sustainable work opportunities.

About the Role

The Employment Officer & Industry Coach will be primarily responsible for facilitating employment placements for Skills to Work participants through proactive employer engagement, job sourcing, candidate matching, and recruitment coordination. • Monitor labor-market trends, recruitment requirements, and emerging employment opportunities in E-Commerce, Digital Marketing, and Mobile App Development, with particular attention to entry-level positions, freelance opportunities, and remote employment pathways.
  • Conduct post-placement follow-up with participants and employers to verify employment outcomes, monitor initial employment retention, and identify challenges requiring additional support.
  • Maintain accurate records of employer engagement, opportunities, referrals, interviews, and confirmed placements, and contribute to regular progress reporting and documentation of employment outcomes.
Expected Deliverables
  • Develop and maintain an active employer engagement and employment opportunities pipeline covering both E-Commerce & Digital Marketing and Mobile App Coding training pathways, with placement opportunities and progress tracked separately for each pathway.
  • Individualized employment readiness assessments, coaching, and job-matching support for targeted participants.
  • Documented candidate referrals, interviews, employment placements, and post-placement follow-up.
